About Us

Our Vision

The horse to human relationship has been around a long time.  Let’s employ modern technology to improve the level of interaction with our horses while maintaining the classic quality care and horsemanship.

Our Story

Every business has a beginning, and this is ours…Phil and Paige met while Phil was in the US Navy and stationed in Alameda, California.  After a whirlwind romance, they were married 30 years ago.  When Phil got out of the Navy, he took some time to get his head in order and went to work for the Easter Seals hippotherapy program in Vaughn, Washington.  After a few years of enjoying the work, Phil returned his focus to technology and his education.  Fast forward 13 years to Paige and Phil welcoming their daughter Madison to the world.  Madison was a horse person from the start and was riding as soon as she was able to sit in the saddle.  Fast forward to a teenaged Madison where her love of horses had grown exponentially and had pulled Paige into the passion.  Two years ago, we had the opportunity to buy 30 acres near a sleepy little horse facility near Tryon, North Carolina.  We bought the land, looking to build a small barn, house and rental cabin…and then 30 days later, they announced the FEI committee had selected TIEC for the site of the 2018 games. The scale of StoutStables increased and availability dates were accelerated.

As the engineer and entrepreneur, Phil handles the infrastructure and client communications.  Paige, as the administrator, is responsible for finance and strategy.  Madison is responsible for barn management and equestrian services.
